Recipe: Ginseng strong decoction
Ginseng can be preprared, in addition to regular ginseng tea, also as a much stronger decoction. In Asia, it is a widespread method for use of its higher doses. Optional but welcome ingredients of a ginseng strong decoction can also be wolfberry, jujube, angelica, ginger and other herbs.
For the strong decoction we need:
- 1 liter wate
- 10 g chopped dried root ginseng 6-year-old, for example: ginseng TaiwanCTM LIANG
- 10-15 fruits of goji TaiwanTCM
- 3-5 fruits red jujube TaiwanTCM
- 1-2 slices of dried roots of angelica sinensis TaiwanTCM
- 3-10 grams of fresh ginger root
Instead of ginseng LIANG can use any quality 6-years old roots — TaiwanTCM CHEN`50, TaiwanTCM CHEN`20, Korea INSAM. The amount of ginseng can be customized according to individual needs and experience.
Preparation:
Put all ingredients into the pot or glass cooking utensil. It is appropriate to snick jujube peel in several places for its better boiling. Bring mixture to a boil and boil slowly for at least 30 minutes. Drink warm, try to eat all the ingredients. Decoction can also be stored and used as a concentrate for the preparation of multiple ginseng beverages.
If the ginseng decoction is not drink at once, you should not leave it to stand at room temperature. It can spoil within 24 hours. In the refrigerator it will last for 2-3 days. If we want to keep ginseng in liquid form for a longer period, it is preferable to prepare ginseng alcohol extract.
